Istniejące, użytkowane obiekty budowlane są często z obiektywnych powodów diagnozowane, ale niezależnie od tego muszą być poddawane zgodnie z ustawą Prawo Budowlane przeglądom rocznym i pięcioletnim. Ważnym elementem diagnostycznym jest sprawdzenie stanu technicznego elementów żelbetowych, a w tym stali zbrojeniowej. W pracy zaproponowano podejście trzyetapowe wykorzystujące metody nieniszczące (nieinwazyjne). W pierwszej kolejności stosuje się metodę globalną, która pozwala na określenie miejsc, w których może wystąpić jakaś destrukcja. Wykorzystano w tym celu metodę termowizyjną. W drugiej kolejności wytypowane wcześniej miejsca bada się metodą elektrochemiczną w celu ustalenia prawdopodobieństwa korozji zbrojenia (metoda lokalna). Na koniec stosuje się podejście sublokalne pozwalające na określenie szybkości korozji z wykorzystaniem ponownie metody elektrochemicznej (polaryzacyjnej).

The existing, utilized construction facilities are frequently evaluated due to objective reasons; however, regardless of these evaluations, they have to undergo annual and five-year inspections in accordance with the Construction Law. Condition evaluation of reinforced elements, including reinforcement steel, is an important evaluati on element. This approach proposes a three-stage approach using nondestructive (noninvasive) methods. The global method is used in the first order and it allows to determine places where some destruction can take place. Thermal imaging method has been used for this purpose. Next, the places selected earlier are checked using the electrochemical method in order to assess the probability of corrosion of reinforcement (local method). Finally, a sublocal approach is used that allows to determine the rate of corrosion again with electrochemical (polarization) method.
