IATUL (new window)

IATUL (new window) was founded in Düsseldorf, Germany, as the International Association of Technological University Libraries in May 1955, as an international forum for the exchange of ideas relevant to librarianship in technological universities throughout the world. IATUL is affiliated with the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA (new window)). Since 1999 IATUL is a member of the International Council for Scientific and Technical Information (ICSTI (new window)).

The task of the Association is to initiate and support the effective cooperation of libraries from around the world.

The Association publishes IATUL Proceedings (new window) in electronic form, presenting the selection of papers delivered during the conference organized by IATUL.
IATUL organizes annual conferences and seminars and regional meetings. In 2004, the Cracow University of Technology Library was the organizer and host of the 25th IATUL conference Library Management in Changing Environment (new window). In 2007, a joint seminar of IATUL Board representatives was held at the CUT Library and the representatives of Polish academic technical libraries operating within the PolBit group.
