KOHA - open source tool to support the research library
The Conference Organizers: Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University and The Cracow University of Technology Library.
Libraries can save money by utilizing open source software in place of commercial library management systems.
To what extent open source software meets the expectations of librarians and users ? Can it be competitive with commercial systems? These are the questions we tried to answer during our Conference. This year's edition of the Conference was dedicated to open source tool to support the research library.
Topics of the conference:
- open-source software in library environment;
- the idea of creating a social software;
- KOHA system functionality;
- KOHA software implementation technical and organizational requirements;
- Polish KOHA community development;
- possibility to modify and expand the KOHA system source code;
- KOHA and other systems and tools.
The conference celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Cracow University of Technology.
