Scientific conference "The European heritage in open digital collections" under the patronage of the Rector of the Cracow University of Technology prof. dr hab. inż. Jan Kazior.

The aim of the conference was to review issues related to the preservation of the European cultural heritage and to identify actions to increase universal and open access to scientific publications that are part of it. The conference was aimed at presenting the experience gained by libraries and scientific institutions during the implementation of projects related to the open access of digital resources. It was also a conference summarizing the project implemented by the Cracow University of Technology and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków: "The European Technical Heritage - the dissemination of historical and contemporary publications in the field of technical sciences in an innovative IT environment".

During the conference, the following issues were discussed:
- the importance of heritage for society and future generations,
- the way of sharing digital resources of science and culture,
- standards used in collecting, developing and sharing digital objects,
- models of digitization of historical collections,
- resources digitization technology.
The accompanying event of the conference was the exhibition of the most valuable digitized prints made available in the Redo system created as part of the EDT project.
