Library Week
We celebrated the CUT Library Week under the nationwide slogan: #library, from May 6-12, 2019. We prepared numerous attractions, both on an entertainment and scientific level. During the entire CUT Library Week, numerous competitions were held on the FB library profile. As every year, on the occasion of the Library Week, our Bibliodniówka (PDF) magazine came to the hands of readers. The week-long event was accompanied by a 50% reduction in fees for overdue items. A Library picnic was held in the courtyard of the Cracow University of Technology, accompanied by Nowinki Radio, on 7 May, 2019. Tasty refreshments, numerous competitions in the field of knowledge about collections and services of the Library, valuable prizes, good music and nice weather attracted crowds of CUT students and employees. In parallel to the picnic we prepared a Game Room in the Serials Reading Room together with the Foundation for the Promotion of Retroinformatics "Old Computers and Games". Participants had the opportunity to try their hand at games from 20 years ago, as well as review the computer press from the turn of the century. During the Library week there was also a workshop for writing thesis, graduation work, which discusses the most difficult aspects related to this: the choice of the topic, assessment of the state of research and literature on the selected topic, tools useful in searching for sources, creating bibliography and issues related to intellectual property and its use. An exhibition of foreign scientific books took place at the Serials Reading Room, from 8 to 10 May. The University academic staff could recommend books for purchase by the CUT Library. We hope that through this event more readers will become our guests.
