Funding programmes for scientific publications affiliated to the CUT

Publication of an article in the Open Access model may involve an additional fee, known as the Article Processing Charge (APC), charged to the author by the academic publisher. The cost of publishing an article may be borne by the university; may be covered by a grant/project; may be subsidized by various contracts and programmes. Authors who publish under the Open Access model retain copyright, including the right to disseminate their work under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license. The final electronic version of the published article is made available by the publisher, at the same time it can be archived and made available in the repositories of the institution to which the publication is affiliated or which funds Open Access. For programmes with a limited pool of articles, eligibility is usually determined by the manuscript acceptance date.

The CUT employees can submit articles under open publishing programmes, in which the cost of publication is covered in whole or in part by a national license. There are also platforms available for the CUT employees that offer a reduced cost for publishing an article under Open Access.
