Where can I pick up my books?
Books can be picked up and returned at Library Lending Rooms:
- the main Library building, 24 Warszawska St.
- the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Library (BWM), 37 Jana Pawła II Av.
- and Library self-service outdoor kiosks, located:
- on the main campus of the CUT in front of the Library pavilion, (24 Warszawska St.),
- at the entrance of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Library (BWM) building, 37 G Jana Pawła II Av.
You can select the pick-up location in the catalogue when you place an order and then you have to return a book to the same Lending Room or Library self-service outdoor kiosk.
Can I pick up a book without a library card / electronic student ID (ELS)?
No. You always need your library card or electronic student ID card (ELS) to borrow items.
Can someone else pick up the ordered books for me?
Yes, but she/he has to have a library card or electronic student ID card (ELS) of the person who ordered the books and authorization to collect books form.
How long will ordered book be waiting at the Lending Room or Library self-service outdoor kiosk?
- Lending Room - you can pick up the book within 7 days from the order date, (including the day the order is processed),
- Library self-service outdoor kiosks - you can pick up the book within 3 days from the order date, (including the day the order is processed).

For how long can I borrow a book?
All books may be borrowed for a period of 60 days.
How do I renew my library books?
Through a self-service renewal.
Books from the CUT Library may be renewed through the library system. The self-renewal is made directly.
You cannot renew an item if it has been requested by another user and is overdue.
- Go to "My Library Account/Renew Items".
- After logged in Click on VIEW YOUR CIRCULATION RECORD with the "SAMODZIELNA PROLONGATA" (Self-renewal) button.
- Choose the loans you wish to renew by clicking the box next to them.
- To renew all items: -> Click on RENEW ALL ITEMS.
- A new due date(s) will appear in the list. Make sure that all of your renewals were successful!
- Please also check the possible charges (if the items are already overdue).
How many times can I renew my items?
You can renew books yourself online up to 5 times if nobody has placed reservation on the item you want to renew.
What to do when I have used five self-renewals and I still need the book?
If the book on loan is not placed ‘hold’ by other users, borrowing the book again is possible after returning it at any Lending Room (24 Warszawska St. or 37 Jana Pawła II Av.).
Can I check out a book from the reference collection?
No. Reference books do not circulate which means they cannot be checked out.
