Where can I use the computer catalogue?

OPAC (new window) terminals are available at:

  • the corridors of the Library, 24 Warszawska St.;
  • Main Reading Room, 24 Warszawska St;
  • Library Pavilion, 24 Warszawska St;
  • the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Library (BWM), 37 Jana Pawła II Av.
  • the CUT Library computer catalogue (new window) is also available from any device with Internet access.

How can I find out if the Library has a book/journal I'm interested in?

This is actually very easy to find out. The Library computer catalogue (new window) will allow you to find out which books/journals the Library has, and where they are kept.
By entering the details of the book title or author, the catalogue will tell you everything you need to know, it will even tell you if the book is currently on a shelf in the Library, or whether someone else is borrowing it at the moment.

How to check whether a book is available at the Reading Room?

For this purpose, please select the advanced search in the Library computer catalogue (new window). Then select the "reference collection".

Where can I read journals?

The quickest way to search for printed journals is to use the Library computer catalogue (new window). You can check they location and a shelf mark.

Where can I read standards?

Standards are available only at the Main Reading Room, 24 Warszawska St. and at the CUT Branch Library at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (BWM), 37 Jana Pawła II Av.

Where can I find PhD theses?

The PhD theses are available at the Main Reading Room, 24 Warszawska St. You can search them all in the LIbrary computer catalogue (new window). In addition, the electronic versions of doctoral dissertations are available in the CUT repository (new window).

Can I make copies of the publications from CUT repository?

Yes, if the author has given his consent.

Is it possible to find BSc or MSc theses in the CUT Library?

No, but you can determine if there is or no MSc thesis in the CUT repository (new window).

Can I search the library's e-collection and databases with my home computer?

Yes, with the exception of electronic databases accessible on the CUT campus only.

Can I make copies from electronic databases?

Yes, but under the terms of the license held by the CUT Library.
